Rudi Broschofsky

Rudi Broschofsky’s artwork navigates the intersection between representation and abstraction, shifting with the viewer’s perspective. Rooted in Western imagery but executed through a Street Art lens, his process fuses two traditionally separate visual worlds into something distinctly his own. Using the unique and challenging medium of spray paint, he builds bold, graphic compositions through meticulously hand-cut stencils.

Each piece begins with a long and tetious—cutting intricate stencil layers by hand with an X-Acto knife. Up close, the work breaks apart into a mix of abstract shapes and negative spaces; step back, and the image becomes apparent. The result is a controlled tension between chaos and clarity, where perception becomes part of the experience.

Raised inside Broschofsky Galleries, founded by his parents in 1987, Rudi was immersed early in a wide range of influences—from historic Western photography to the sharp immediacy of iconic Western pop art. He has since spent over two decades as the gallery’s director, deepening that exposure through firsthand experience in the art market. That dual perspective continues to shape his visual language today.

With a background in business finance, Rudi approaches each artwork like a system-structured, deliberate, and outcome-driven. For him, the work is less improvisation and more execution: once the framework is set, the final image is a matter of precision.
